About Us
At Bama Bounders, we believe in building Champions and Leaders in everything we do!
We develop our team members in the office, coaching and leadership to become leaders of their families, their careers, and their communities. We accomplish this through proper training, mentoring, setting the proper examples, and leadership training. We also look to bring along department leaders from within our existing team members.
We teach our students to become more than they are or what they think they can become. They learn the importance of paying attention, following directions, waiting their turn and setting the proper examples for others. In addition, they become stronger, faster, more flexible, and more coordinated. We also help to improve motor skills and hand/eye coordination.
The way we build these traits is through gymnastics, tumbling, camps, birthday parties, parent’s night outs and community activities.
Bama Bounders is committed to providing a top quality gymnastics program to Northport, Tuscaloosa and the surrounding areas. Coach Erin Holdefer-Kightlinger is a graduate of the University of Alabama, with a degree in Public Relations and a minor in Business Administration. Erin was a Bama Bounder from 1993 – 2000. She won many state and regional titles and even competed at nationals. After high school, Erin walked on at the University of Alabama in gymnastics earning a spot in the Vault starting line-up for 28 consecutive meets. In 2002 Erin was the lead off Vaulter for Alabama's National Champion Gymnastics Team. After retiring from college gymnastics, Erin became the assistant coach of Bama Bounders in 2002. In 2003 she was promoted to Head Coach after leading the team to Nationals.
Erin and her husband Eric bought the Bama Bounders program in 2009 to keep the program in the family. Over the years, gymnastics has been a very important part of Erin and her family’s life. Now she wants everyone to be a part of that family... “The Gymnastics Family”.
Erin wants every child to have the opportunity to experience the fun and fitness of gymnastics while learning the self-discipline and self-confidence that she experienced through gymnastics.
Classes at Bama Bounders are geared to fit the needs of all children. The classes are designed to teach a full range of skills from basic movement education to advanced skills of competitive gymnastics. Classes are for ages 18 months to 18 years. All are taught with the child's safety, health and education in mind. Erin truly believes in the USA Gymnastics motto, “BEGIN HERE, GO ANYWHERE”, because gymnastics has allowed her to see many different places and meet many different people in her life.
